With increasing research into the human microbiome, interest into the health benefits of microbiome modification continues. Prebiotics, probiotics and synbiotics modulate the gut microbiota composition and activity and influence the immune response.1 While pro, pre, and syn -biotics are widely accepted, postbiotics are a new therapeutic that may offer therapeutic benefits where the other -biotics cannot.
